NYC Vintage Map is an inventory of vintage, resale and thrift stores in the New York City area. While we don’t collect any personal information as such, we do process some information from you to provide the service, understand our business, and improve the service.
This policy applies to visitors and users (collectively, “Users”) of the website nycvintagemap.com and on our mobile app (together referred to as “NYC Vintage Map”).

Location and Map Usage Data. NYC Vintage Map uses Mapbox maps to display stores on a map. Mapbox collects anonymized location and map usage information by default. In our app you can opt out by clicking the Mapbox logo and choosing ‘Telemetry’. To learn more, see “Mapbox Telemetry”. We don’t collect precise device location data for any other purposes. On the website, we may get your approximate country and city location based on your Internet Protocol Address.
Usage Data. On the website we may collect information such as page views, visits, referring web pages, search queries done, and actions taken.
Cookies. A cookie is a small text file stored in a visitor’s browser which can be set and read by an online service. We use cookies on the website to collect user behavior metrics, including unique users and user retention using Google Analytics. You can usually manage your cookies in your web browser’s preferences. If you want to prevent analytics tracking on the website, you can block the cookies in your browser settings, or install a Google Analytics block extension.
Device Data. We may also collect information about your device. Examples of such information include device model, operating system, app version, performance data, and crash and error logs which help us improve the user experience.

To Fix Errors. To recognize any technical problems and fix them swiftly.
We share personal information with our Data Processors in the following manner:
Mapbox. As discussed above, we use Mapbox as our map provider, and they use anonymized telemetry data to improve the maps. You can opt out of location telemetry reporting in the app by clicking the Mapbox logo and choosing ‘Telemetry’.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how NYC Vintage Map website is being used. We limit what we share with Google to what is needed to accomplish our analytical tasks. For example, we do not participate in advertising networks or voluntary Google products sharing. That said, Google may still use analytics information according to their Partner Sites and Privacy Policies.
Netlify. We use Netlify for hosting the website.
In Addition
The data we collect from you is stored in the United States. By using NYC Vintage Map, you agree to the transfer, storage and processing of your information in the United States.
We keep your information only as long as it’s needed to serve the purposes described above.
NYC Vintage Map contains links to third party websites. However we don’t have any control over those websites and how they collect personal information. We therefore strongly recommend that you read the privacy policies of those third party websites. We expressly disclaim any responsibility for the privacy practices of third party websites that may be linked from NYC Vintage Map.
We encourage you to regularly review this Privacy Policy for any updates and changes. The Effective Date at the top of this page is the date of the last edit. If we materially change the ways in which we collect and use personal information, we will post a note on the home page.
